We popped in here for a snack ahead of an event in the City Church just opposite. We didn't pay any attention to the full menu, but just selected from the lite bites and small plates, which with an offer of 3 for £9 was a good deal (individually priced at £3.29-£4.49). We selected calamari with chilli sauce, southern fried chicken with spicy cream sauce and chips with Katsu curry sauce at the bar and waited with our drinks for dishes to arrive. Nick had a half of Pedigree and since the only draught cider on offer was Strongbow, I had a small glass of Sauvignon Blanc. We were able to find seats that weren't completely dominated by television screens, which made conversation easier.

When the food came we were surprised to find that the cream sauce was bright red, and we appeared to have chicken under the curry sauce instead of chips. However, we tucked in, and decided to share a toffee apple crumble with ice cream. This was equally acceptable and we were satisfied, particularly as the total bill was under £20.

As our table was being cleared by the girl who first served me, she asked if everything was OK so I commented on our surprise at the sauce and the second portion of chicken. She explained that the sauce was actually chilli sauce with some cream stirred in, hence the colour, and she misheard my order thinking I said Chicken not Chips. All's well that ends well!
