We were put in room 1, a small room for the reduced rate of £120 B&B . The rooms are all named after fly fishing lures - ours was "Little Maryatt" with an example outside the room.

The decor was khaki and primrose with a grey carpet, which I found rather odd, and the en suite had a bath on a podium! The room was provided with nice toiletries, a carafe of tap water with glasses together with home made shortbread, a cafetirere and real coffee and a flask of fresh milk every evening. There was a mozzie grid over the window, and fortunately a fan provided as it was so hot. All in all this filled the room up! Also on a side table there was a half bottle of red wine at £10 and 200ml of brandy at £20.

Dinner was good but not as exceptional as some professional reviewers make out ( e.g. Link), and breakfast was delicious but irritatingly not served until 9am. We tried to go early to get the self help items in advance but the dining room was locked and we couldn't even check out early. This meant we didn't set off until nearly 10 o'clock. Not good when you've a lot of miles to cover on foot.
