We had a basic room with a fairly comfortable bed - it was two singles joined with the inevitable gap in the middle. The en suite had only a shower, of course, but we had a top floor room on the corner of a block so had views from 2 windows. We used the restaurant only for breakfast, and whilst the juice was out of a machine (and tasted powdered), there were Momo porridge pots. You were supposed to fill these with hot water from the coffee machine. Unfortunately it was hot water, not boiling as specified on the pot, so the porridge didn't reconstitute properly. However, this could be remedied by carefully using the microwave in the foyer provided for heating microwave meals from the hotel shop. The result was excellent! Other breakfast items were standard cereals, fruit and yoghurt and basic cooked items.
The main problem with the place is that its rates vary enormously . We stayed at the Limpley Stoke hotelLink at the weekend when the HIE charged £160 B&B; by Monday night it was down to £75. They also charge £7.50 per night for parking which is rather mean when there is nowhere else locally. A security barrier would be better to prevent non-resident parking. On the plus side it is not too far out of town, and there are local independent places to eat; e.g. Bath Sushi Link, Meatbusters (link to follow) and Green Park Brasserie (link to follow).
