Paper Money

Paper Money

Ken Follett

2013 Pan

Recommendation: Previous books

Attracted also by the preface in which the author says "Paper Money is the best of my unsuccessful books" and "it has a clever plot, which pleases me, but obviously is not something that pleases the readers of bestsellers". This was written in the 1970s under a pseudonym, and has obviously been re-issued since the author's success with the "Century" trilogy (link to follow) and "Pillars of Wisdom" series. It is a short book, almost a novella, in a style that has Jeffrey Archer tones. The plot takes place over a single day, following a journalist's pursuit of a story and the events comprising the possible story. Entertaining.
