Best new (to us) Thai! We were on a fairly tight schedule so although Nick was keen to go to the Mayflower Chinese it didn't open until 6pm and at 5.40 we happened to pass the Lime Leaf which was already open and had customers. So on the "bird in the hand" principle we went in. We were very glad we did. It was excellent. A small dish of (white) prawn crackers was complimentary and a medium glass of house wine was reasonably priced. We skipped starters and just ordered main courses. Beef Penang curry for me with coconut rice and Duck with Chinese mushrooms and oyster sauce for Nick with plain chow mien. The duck was crisp and the sauce tasty and Nick ate the whole portion of egg noodles, which he reported as being the best he could ever remember. My curry was tasty and was accurately listed with a one star hotness rating. I didn't need all the rice.
We still had room for a shared dessert but this was tricky as I would have liked banana fritter with coconut ice cream. However, Nick won the day with Trufino, a bought in sphere of chocolate covered chocolate ice cream swirled through with chocolate sauce accompanied by a some squirty cream and yet more chocolate sauce! We managed to finish it only because Nick ate two thirds!
