An amazingly good and different oriental restaurant in a most unlikely place. Listed as Chinese but more Oriental as many of the dishes are Singaporean. Nick had Szechuan style hot & sour soup which was thick and dark with vegetables, tofu, chicken and prawn pieces. My chicken satay was unusually tender and appeared to be genuinely home cooked, with a peanut dip which also did not seem to be out of a jar. Unfortunately we chose divergent dishes for main which resulted in my having steamed rice and Nick having noodles and eating only half of each. Nick's Cantonese style sizzling steak was extremely rich and I was glad of my plain rice even with the sample I tasted. My fried lamb with ginger and spring onion was not as greasy as I was expecting it to be, but even so I was glad I had not ordered fried rice or noodles.

This was easily the best Chinese meal we have eaten in a very long time and was quite expensive for a midweek meal, but now that the area has lost two of its Italian restaurants recently we are glad to have found somewhere else to eat well.
