This popular place is busy every evening especially on a Monday when several other local eating places are closed. Such is the ambiance that when another couple arrived at the same time as us we didn't hesitate in sharing the only empty table.

From the menu of Cajun & Creole staples, and noticing the American portions being served, Nick and I shared a Bayou Appetizer – fried oysters, crab claws, shrimps & crawfish with spicy dip, followed by Tenderloin tails of beef with salad and fries. Size wise this was the right choice but of the the Bayou Appetizer Nick did not like the fried oysters and the fried crawfish were almost all batter and little taste. I realised what they mean when menus offer “popcorn” shrimp or crawfish. The steak , however, was cooked rare and very tasty and a good choice of dressings was offered for the salad. Although the fries were rather limp there was plenty to eat without them. With a bottle of Shiraz a $50 bill was good value.

Great atmosphere, great waitress - thanks,Stephanie.
