This restaurant on a historic site is one of many similar in the Upper French Quarter of NO. Prices in this area tend to be higher than in the Lower French Quarter as this is right in the centre of the main tourist area. That said, if you can get a balcony table the entertainment to be had from watching life in the street is worth the premium, you can even see river traffic passing too. Balcony tables are available only to diners spending more than $25 but if you're having a meal this is not hard. Nick liked the look of the oysters, but found them to be just as bland as he remembered Louisiana oysters to be. The soft shelled crabs came battered whole but were much tastier. My shrimp and crab salad was huge The crab was much more flavourful than the Gulf shrimp but Ranch dressing and the spicy cocktail sauce enlivened them no end. Another sign of being in the tourist area is that a gratuity of 18% was automatically added to the bill bringing it to almost $88 for the food and a couple of glasses of wine.
